SEVILLE

Seville the capital of Andalusia with its 700’000 inhabitants is possibly the most beautiful city in Spain and the one that has best preserved its traditional customs. It is said that Seville is a city of artists – maybe because you can sense the artistic environment in its warm and enveloping festive atmosphere. Every culture that has passed this way (Phoenicians, Romans, Goths, Arabs…) has been enchanted by the magic of this land and wanted to leave their mark, which has led to a mixture of architectural styles in its monuments (Giralda, Alczar, Cathedral, Torre del Oro…).

The age old culture of this city has made an art from of strolling unhurriedly through the narrow, colourful streets. You can discover quaint little corners, people enjoying conversation in the bars, spontaneous flamenco parties in the squares and taverns and an exciting and vibrant nightlife.

Art also present in the varied cultural life, not only in the concerts and festivals, but also in the popular festivities; so alive that it is difficult to be a mere spectator. We are talking about Holy Week – a synthesis of emotion and religion–, La Feria- a week devoted to singing and dancing until day break-, Corpus Christi, La “Vel” of Santa Ana, …

What with the cuisine, the whether (sunny for most of the year), the strength of its musical traditions and its arts and crafts, Seville is a city where it is possible to appreciate the art of living.
