![]() There is so much to be said about Andalusia, there are so many reasons which over the centuries have made our region the destination of thousands of travellers who have come to visit us from a multitude of cultures and later settled in the area. Today those same reasons hold true and continue to make Andalusia particularly attractive, a region where visitors are always welcome… What are the reasons which make Andalusia so special? Below we have outlined some of them... The diversity of landscape and the unique beauty of its geography, formed by the contrast between sea and mountain, sun and snow, the plain and the hills, etc. The Andalusian climate, which provides us with more than 300 days of sun per year. The mild and pleasant temperatures enable us to enjoy a lifestyle which is quite special and totally different. In the small towns and in the cities, the relaxed life of Andalusia acts as a soothing balm form all. The Andalusian culture and its history: the legacy left by the many people who have passed through here over centuries is present in every corner of Andalusia. The Alhambra of Granada, the Mezquita of Cordoba or the Cathedral of Seville, not to mention the multitude of fortresses, castles and monasteries scattered across the region, remind us at every step of the three cultures who have lived here together (Arabs, Jews and Christians) and who are responsible for forming our unique way of life. Art and traditions: to participate in a flamenco show, enjoying the rhythm of the guitar and the stamping feet of our dancers, watch the Easter processions, go on a pilgrimage in the month of May, attend the Carnival in Cadiz or any of the other multitude of festivals which are celebrated in our region throughout the year, all of this and more, only in Andalusia. The inhabitants and their customs: the ¨Andaluces¨or, native Andalusian, who are loved in all of Spain for their friendliness and sense of humour, are always ready to welcome and receive visitors. Practising, learning and perfecting Spanish in Andalusia is made easy by the complicity of the many volunteers who will offer to help those in need. Gastronomy: Andalusia cuisine is a true reflection of the traditional Mediterranean diet, based on the fresh products which nature provides us with (fish, meat and vegetables), cooked with the recipes passed down by our ancestors and flavoured with our ¨green gold¨, olive oil. Sports and leisure facilities: A vast selection of sports can be practised here, such as hill-walking, rock-climbing, horse-riding or water-skiing. The modern sports facilities now available in Andalusia enable our visitors to continue to practise their favourite sport during their visit. Transport and communication: with six airports (two International), motorways, high speed trains and a network of main roads in perfect condition, travelling in Andalusia is today easier and more comfortable than ever.
